On Wednesday, 19 June 2024, Minister of Justice Graziella Marok-Wachter took part in the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the invitation of Lithuania and the non-governmental organisation Transparency International. The IACC is the world's premier global forum for bringing together states, the private sector, and civil society to tackle current challenges in the fight against corruption.
During the high-level IACC segment, Minister of Justice Marok-Wachter presented the developments in Liechtenstein to strengthen measures to prevent and combat corruption. She drew attention to the significant progress Liechtenstein has made in implementing the recommendations from the evaluation rounds of the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). The Minister of Justice also had the opportunity to highlight Liechtenstein's efforts in this area at a plenary session on corruption and environmental crimes.
Another topic at the conference was the reconstruction of Ukraine and the associated importance of anti-corruption, transparency, and effective utilisation of resources. During a bilateral meeting, Minister of Justice Marok-Wachter furthermore exchanged views with the head of the Ukrainian National Agency for Corruption Prevention, Viktor Pavlushchyk.
